Return from Disney World

We are back from our family trip to Disney world (minus my hubby and plus my best friend in his place) Hubby had to work and I needed the expert advice as well as the extra pair of hands to keep up with my 2 year old and *gasp, how did this happen?* 5 year old.We had a wonderful trip. I couldn't have asked for anything more or less. It was amazing. The expression of pure joy on my children's faces as we met character after character of all their favorite moves and shows.... (not counting a few temper tantrums from the lack of normal sleep) it was 7 days of fun and bliss!

I do have to say that the food was nothing short of amazing. It was still the Food and Wine festival in Epcot and I can say we literally ate our way around the world... French bread and creme brule in France, chocolate and caramel in Germany, breakfast in Norway with the princesses, mexican dinner in Mexico, cheese soup on canada and some delicious -lick the plate till its dry- chocolate dessert in Sweeden (I think). AND THAT WAS JUST ONE PARK/ONE DAY! Holy cow... my only saving grace was walking over 10,000 steps a day. At the beginning I was kind of grumbling to myself about how far our hotel was from the bus stop at the end of a tiring day... but by the end I was kissing the pavement for the chance to walk off a little extra calories.

Cupcake at Beast's Castle - 'Try the gray stuff, it's delicious! you don't believe me... ask the dishes!'

With the meal plan in disney you get 2 meals and a snack every day. Each meal comes with an entree, a drink and a dessert. EACH meal has this. So at lunch time, you could have a cheese burger or sandwich with side of chocolate mousse or cheese cake or a pumpkin cupcake.... yeah... and I did. Its been a little disappointing coming home to eat lunch. Not only do I have to make it myself, but theres so dessert. Oh well, Back to reality! It was nice while it lasted though.

I came home and didn't want to get on the scale because I enjoyed so many tasty treats over the last week. I finally made myself this morning (3 days after we got home) and I didn't gain a thing. Maybe even lost 1 or 2 pounds because I was fully dressed but who knows. The scale may say something different tomorrow. Lets just go with breaking even between the walking and calories. :) I'll take that.

I can tell that I'm feeling exhausted and sluggish since we've been back. 2 kids for a week in disney world can do that to you, but I know that at least 50%-75% is due to the diet I ate. Plenty of the world's most delicious foods and not enough healthy foods!

I've been toying with the idea of trying to go sugar free/lowcarb for a month or so just to get things right again. The only drawback is.... its getting closer towards the best seasons of the year... Scrumptious soups and yummy treats are plentiful... and I love them all. But I can feel my body is out of wack from restaurant food over vacation. Time to do something to get it right again and get thing normalized again. get off this addiction to sugars and cokes again. I drank a lot of sprite in disney world when I'm used to drinking maybe 1 a week (if that). I may even do another juice fast for a week. I haven't decided yet. My blood sugars haven't been perfect either. :/ too much of a good thing is sometimes just too much.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good (healthy) low carb/low fat plan to follow? It doesn't have to be a "diet" I just need a plan that is healthy to follow anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. I did atkins years ago but I just can't take the high fat and high amounts of red meat. :/

Thank you, in advance :)
