Skinny Rules - Week 1 (A Review)

OK...so.... Week 1 of following Bob's "Skinny Rules" .... I have to say it wasn't terrible. He recommends that women eat 1,200 calories a day. I had been watching my calorie intake before, but I was eating 1,600 calories a day. And most days I was still hungry at the end of the day. I was worried what 400 calories less would feel like. (In my mind: starving.... then grumpy ... and then unhappy and eventually some sort of calorie free for all.)

But you know what? In reality, I didn't feel so deprived. There were moments where I was kind of hungry or wanting something else, but I was ok with it. When I was eating 1600 calories, I ate whatever would fit in those 1600 calories and then closed my mouth. That was it.

With Bob's diet plan, I leaned something serious about not just quantity, but quality of what I ate. I thought I had understood it before, but its different some how now. I'm eating lots of apples and lots of berries, lots of good filling grains and lots and lots and lots... of water. Did I mention there is a lot of water? Because there is. I end up drinking 90 - 120oz per day. I imagine my food floating in my belly like a tear drop in the largest ocean.... I have a "water belly" all.day.long. You know when you jump up and down and you (and others) can hear the water sloshing around in your tummy? Thats a water belly! My children find it entertaining to lay with their ear pressed against my tummy and hear it girggle...we are a fascinating family to be around...

So anyways, here is the question you must be thinking.... Did it work? Did I get results?... and the answer is Yes. Yes it did! I lost 4 pounds over the past week! I was very proud of myself when I got on the scale yesterday (and every other day before that lol) I love seeing the numbers go down!

I also feel good inside and out. A TON less processed foods and almost no artificial sugars. I did break down and add a few crystal lites to my water... I don't think I'll ever be able to give that up completely. But I was careful to make sure it wasn't excessive.

I'm still not back down to my lowest number yet. I have about 7 more pounds to go to get back down. :/ but I'm impressed enough with the results from this way of eating to continue it. :) so hopefully in a few weeks I'll be back down and continue my journey to be a little less mommy one day at a time!
