Organic Garden Update.

Please don't laugh at me too much.... but I'm totally going to share with you the fruits of my labor today..... actually... they're vegetables mostly, but I digress...

So, this is what my little garden looked like March 30th:

Look at what it looks like as of June 10th!.... Boo-yah, baby! :)

I even found this little gem in my garden this morning...

Thats right.... I got me a jalapeno!..... just one.... but I'm still calling it a success.

I've already harvested some basil and some kale leaves (below)  from my garden. I put the kale through my juicer and made some mean green juice that I have (secretly) named my "good hulk" juice. Full of kale, romaine, cucumber, green apple and celery.

The zucchini plant, watermelon plant and cucumber plants are HUUUUUGE.... they're slowly trying to choke everything else if I don't stay on top of moving them around some. So far they've produced beautiful flowers but no veggies. I still have a little hope though. Still time left. I know next year they need way more room than what I allowed for them. I don't have any tomatoes yet either... but again....Its green and growing so I'm pretty excited about that.

I know this may seem lame to some people, getting excited over this and all. Heck, I felt that way about all this a few years ago.... but today, I'm proud and feeling accomplished for having proved my black thumbs wrong, learning some new things... and maybe even teaching my kids a little something in the process.

I have plans to do things a bit differently next year, but my goal this year was to keep things green and growing.... its a bonus if I get something I can actually eat!

**Local People - Want some fresh, organic, no-pesticides basil? I have plenty! Message me on facebook... I'd be more than happy to share!**
